Seit 1999 ist das Internationale Johannes-Brahms-Chorfestival & Wettbewerb in Wernigerode ein Publikumsmagnet für Chöre und Musikgruppen aus aller Welt. Der musikalische Schwerpunkt des Wettbewerbs ist dem Komponisten Johannes Brahms und anderen Romantikern des 19. Jahrhunderts gewidmet. Beratungskonzerte und Proben mit anerkannten internationalen Chorfachleuten schaffen ein Umfeld des gemeinsamen Lernens und bilden hervorragende Möglichkeiten für die eigene musikalische Weiterbildung. Durch seine familiäre Atmosphäre, die malerische Kulisse und die internationale Vielfalt hat sich dieses Festival inzwischen zu einer der populärsten Veranstaltungen für Chöre aus der ganzen Welt entwickelt.

The gala concert of the 13th International Johannes Brahms Choir Festival promises an evening of musical excellence, featuring selected national and international competition choirs. In the unique setting of the Konzerthaus Liebfrauen, the choirs will present an exciting and diverse program.
Since 1999 the International Johannes Brahms Choir Festival and Competition has been attracting choirs and music ensembles from all over the world. The competition’s musical focus is dedicated to the works of Johannes Brahms and other Romantic composers of the 19th century. Evaluation concerts and rehearsals with renowned international choral experts provide an inspiring environment for shared learning and offer excellent opportunities for musical development.
With its warm, welcoming atmosphere, picturesque surroundings, and international diversity, the festival has become one of the most popular choral events worldwide.
